How much does it cost to supply and fit an aerial?
There are many factors to consider when installing an aerial.
- Wall or chimney mounting, is there an overhang on either? this will determine the size and type of bracketry.
- How high does the mast need to be to 'clear all obstructions'? sizes vary between 3ft and 20ft.
- What level of signal is available at your location? this will help determine the size and type of aerial required.
- Does the aerial need a Masthead Amplifier? this will be dependant on the incoming signal levels.
- How many TV Points are Fitted / Required? The type of cable and locations will vary the work involved. Some cabling & amplifiers may need to be updated
- What is the access at the Property? The type of property (e.g. bungalow – 3 stories), type of roof and construction and ladder access available can affect the time and number of engineers required to complete an installation.
There are probably 30 - 40 different combinations and therefore 30 - 40 different prices. Biggest is not always best. However we do work to a fixed price system and only charge for the parts & time required. Prices are agreed in advance with engineers before work is carried out.
To determine what aerial type is required for your property, the engineer can give you a idea from local knowledge and by testing your current aerial where possible. However to ensure a good result we can offer a rooftop signal test where an engineer will go up onto the roof and carry out a more accurate test. We have an average cost of £45+vat depending on access etc. From this we can advise you on what aerial will do the job, and if you chose to have the aerial installed by us then we reduce this cost of the total price of the aerial installation.
